Etsy Feature: An Interview With ClaireEyeDesign

As promised, here is my first Etsy Feature Interview!!  I posted in the forum asking for interested sellers and got a chance to look through some really AMAZING shops, lots of which I’d never seen before (I just love that about Etsy, you never know what you’re going to find!).  ClaireEyeDesign caught my attention with her beautiful note cards and photography.  She is a newer seller to Etsy having joined in June, but already she’s put together a great combination of items.  My personal favorite are these note cards:

What are your favorite methods or materials to use when creating? I am a graphic designer by trade so most of the items that I design are paper products. As for hobbies, my camera to grab the next amazing shot, and of course acrylic paints. Painting has become my new obsession!

What brought you to Etsy? Do you sell locally in your community as well? A friend of mine suggested Etsy a while back. I sell locally to friends and acquaintances and wanted to increase my client base. I thought Etsy would be a great way to get the word out on a global level. My first sale was to Canada, so…Success!

How long have you been crafting? Do you try to create something new every day, or just when the mood strikes? I’m definitely a “When the mood strikes” kind of person. I have been doing some kind of crafting since I came out of the womb. Some days, I may do 3 types of crafting activities, whereas then I may go another 3 days before getting back to it.

What is your favorite piece in your shop right now? Wow, that’s tough, but I’m going to say, “Island Ride”, which is a photograph taken in Panama this past Spring. I just love the way it caught the light.

Who has been your biggest fan/support? I have a great support system, so it is always hard to pinpoint one person. Although, my husband has stuck with me through so much and also has faith in my talent. He is simply amazing.

Biggest goal for next six months? Increasing sales and getting the word out. My shop is still very new so I really hope things begin to pick up in the near future.
